Ceremony scheduled
for Eagle Scout trio
The Boy Scouts of America announce the advancement of rank to Eagle Scout to Sergio Santiago, Manuel Santiago, and Jesse Tapia.
Each of these boys has put in hours of hard work and service to earn this award. An Eagle Court of Honor will be held on Saturday, July 31, at 6:30 p.m.
The awards ceremony will take place at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 381 N. Pomerene Rd., Pomerene.
All Eagle Scouts are invited to attend and join in the Eagle's Nest to honor these new Eagle Scouts.
Women of Faith
fundraiser in J-6 July 17
The Women of Faith fundraiser and parking lot mini flea market will be held Saturday, July 17 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Community Bible Church on J-Six Road.

Cowboy Camp for Christian fellowship
The Chiricahua Ranchmen's Association is holding it's 65th annual Cowboy Camp for Christian fellowship July 22 - 25. The meeting will be held at Highway 181 and Rock Creek Lane. Contact Bruce Tingle at (520) 384-2467 or Jessie Dean at (520) 384-3227 for further information.
'Faces' art show on
display at City Hall Gallery
"Faces," a new art show is on display in City Hall Gallery. These are framed paintings, drawings and photographs by local artists depicting human or animal faces. There are 26 pieces of art by nine area artists: Marcela Lubian, Becky Fortenberry, Denise Eggman, Bernie Fierro, Celeste Collier, Clement Scott, Larry Scott, Darlene Rodriguez, and Rosemary Tyrrell.
For shows at City Hall, a Call to Artists is put out about three weeks in advance. There are no fees associated with showing work at the City Hall Gallery, but the work is juried and artists are encouraged to become members of the San Pedro River Arts Council. Typically it remains up on the walls for two months. City Hall is open when there is activity in the chamber, or by appointment by calling Danna Judd, 520-720-6331 ext. 2031.
All the King's Horses to host Young Ladies' Retreat
All the King's Horses Children's Ranch is hosting a Young Ladies' Retreat Friday, July 16 and Saturday, July 17, for girls age 10 to "young adult."
The presenter will be Sgt. 1st Class Tiffani Maynor of Fort Huachuca, who will offer three biblically-based topics: Teen Stress on Friday, and Peer Pressure and Suicide Intervention.

dinner on Friday
VFW Post 6271, 233 E. 5th St., is holding its weekly Friday, [July 16] fundraising dinner from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., serving chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, vegetable and roll. Cost is $7, public welcome.
For takeout or more information call 586-2197. VFW bingo hours have changed. Bingo on Sunday will now be at 2 p.m. Kitchen closed for summer.
Benson Back to School Fair upcoming in Aug.
Southeastern Arizona Behavioral Health Services New Turf is hosting the fair Aug. 7 beginning at 9 a.m. until school supplies are gone.
Backpacks, binders, pencils, crayons, erasers, folders, glue, markers, paper, pencils, pens and other school supplies are needed.

The Eagles' Auxiliary meet on the first and third Mondays with the Aeries meeting on the first and third Tuesdays. Trustees also meet every Tuesday. There's also tacos on Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., bingo on Wednesday at 6 p.m., cards sold at 5:30 p.m. The kitchen is open at 5 p.m. for bingo. Fish frys are held every other Friday at 4:30 p.m. but will not be held in July or August.
FOE rents out their hall for banquets, birthday and or anniversary parties and receptions. For more information call 586-3043.

Grace Christian Academy (a ministry of Grace Chapel) is accepting applications for enrollment in the 2010-2011 school year for students preschool through high school. Student-teacher ratio is 1:8, course curriculum is tailored for the student, and teachers are certified with the A.C.E.
"Grace Christian is a place where the whole life of the student is impacted and where education is a family experience," states a news release. The school year begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 20 . Office hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.
