With two games left in the regular season, the St. David Tigers' volleyball team is riding high as they improved to 16-1 last week with a win over Patagonia.
It was another easy victory, as the Lady Tigers won three straight, 25-11, 25-15 and 25-8.
Kaydee McWhorter led the victory, scoring 19 points, 14 assists, 1 ace and 2 kills.
Kayla Vargas had nine kills in the contest and Amorette Jacquez served a perfect 13 of 13.
After the game, Jessica Mayberry said, "At times lacking energy, we kept a postive attitude the whole game. We worked hard and will together."
This week, the Tigers will travel to Tanque Verde High School in Tucson on Thursday, and will host St. Gregory on Friday.
Coach Tylene Miller said there will be no 1A South Regional Tournament this season, as seeding in state will be decided by state power point rankings.
"The team has been working hard and preparing for state," Miller said. "I'm very pleased with them for working hard, pulling together and performing as a team."
Currently, the Lady Tigers are ranked fourth in the 1A state power points with 110.44 points behind Valley Lutheran, Joseph City and Joy Christian.
